Young, creative, fresh and ingenious. The creative people that we will see in the future signing furniture or lamps of the top worldwide brands, might have shown at the Satellite salon in Milan.
We have seen a little bit of everything: some bet for sober furniture and lighting with natural materials, others more easygoing, with riskier designs and technological materials, we have even seen someone who presented objects with recycled old furniture.
A breath of fresh air that we want to share with you!
Both in design furniture and decorative lighting we have seen a bid for the natural and organic in shapes and volumes. These designs clearly point to comfort. Most fancy furniture and lighting or hyper technological materials have been ignored. Natural and organic materials continue to be explored. The sustainability aspects are also taken into account by decorative lighting manufacturers whose commitment with led light or energy saving sources is increasing. … [+]
The key point when talking about interior decoration of a bar is its size. The lamps at the bar will be more or less voluminous according to the decorator or architect’s taste and what they want to achieve. To take an interest in the bar, focusing in innovative lighting, can give a great appeal to the premises. The decorative style and the colours you select, will also influence the appropriate lighting design.
The decorative lamps available in the market for hospitality purposes, offer endless possibilities in sizes, shapes, textures, materials, colours and finishes. There are also some manufacturers that can even customize their lighting catalogues and adapt them to the requests and needs of the specific project in question.
At home, interiors with decorative designer lamps should be addressed according to the lifestyle. At a single executive’s home technical light will prevail. The decorative lamps will be an isolated case, but well selected and with a prominent role.
However, in a standard traditional family with kids, technical spotlights can be a solution for corridors and bathrooms but the lamps for the main bedroom, living room, children’s bedroom, kitchen or a room to be used as office, play a central role in order to add warmth and personality to the home. Decorative lighting rounds and enhances the interiors that you choose; it also shows and reinforces the personality and taste of its inhabitants.
arturo alvarez will launch its new collections at Milan and Las Vegas fairs, next April and May.

Decorative lighting in public areas of hotels is nowadays enjoying a leading role. It is the great ally of the decorator because of their aesthetic qualities, available colours, finishes and its unique flows of light: It can enhance entrance halls, make areas more comfortable, illuminate in a particular way or put the accent on them with sophistication. … [+]
It is very difficult to predict in a large space beforehand where we exactly need sockets, we also do not know which furniture will be used, the size and where.
If we do not have sockets on the wall for sconces, we should keep to the ones in the ceiling and the other ones to connect floor lamps. If an area is thought for the dining room, the socket in the ceiling should be used for a suspension to illuminate the table, if the socket does not match up with the place where we would put the table we should fix a piece to move the electric cable with a little bit of charm.
If there are not enough socket in the ceiling, we must round off the atmosphere with floor lamps placed in strategic areas: e.g., next to a sofa.
As a general idea, if we do not want to do more repair work but enjoy nice and adequate lighting for any purpose, portable lamps should have priority over anything else.
We show you how we developed the lamp for Nordés, a Galician company that is currently revolutionizing the market with their high quality gins and vodkas where flavour and the level of creativity both in product and packaging are the key. We are talking about a bespoke commercial project were we developed a table lamp for Nordes’VIP retailers that sell Nordés’vodka and gin. This fixture should express the creativity and originality of its drinks, be easy to place on the counter or a table and also respond to the spirit of the brand. … [+]

The most important thing when we go out for dinner is what we are going to eat; the second one is not only that the atmosphere is pleasant, but also that the lighting at the table is adequate.
For a restaurant whose target is middle-aged public, with a high income, an intimate and cozy atmosphere is desirable. In this case the most adequate lamps are the ones whose shades and diffusers mimic with the ambience. E.g., with nice organic forms (if we talk about contemporary design décor) or universal forms (for a more classic or rustic décor). It is also very important to see what we are eating so the lamp must reflect light over the dishes, the temperature of light will also be key to achieve the best result. … [+]
Mon is a pendant lamp that pays tribute to Piet Mondrian, painter that dedicated all his life to explore the maximum abstraction of forms and colours.
This lamp is a tribute to his search and his complex work. Finding the essential and the basic structure of the universe is a goal that many artists and creators have. For Arturo Alvarez the most beautiful is the most simple, on the other hand it represents a real challenge when you are designing.
If we have wall outlets, it is perfect!. Wall lamps are ideal solutions for long corridors because they light them harmonically. In a living room they can complement light of this space, as far as you can turn them on at the places that interest you more in every moment. … [+]

Besides of a decoration according to the values and philosophy of the project, the most important thing on a commercial installation is lighting: this will make a project really successful or simply incomplete.
There are many kinds of commercial installations, bars, restaurants, hallways, common areas, hotel rooms, stores…. In most of them you should have to find balance between technical and decorative lighting. The later must enhance and optimize aesthetically the chosen decoration, harmonizing colours, volumes and forms. Decorative lighting plays a key roll giving light to specific areas; e.g., a focal light directed to different dishes on a table, but wrapped in a shade/diffuser of warm colour or able to match with the decoration. Decorative lighting can be used to personalize, to enhance and make spaces warmer, as well as captivating and exciting…
Decorative lighting has an impact on specific areas where we look for a special effect, with a specific type of light (N.B., to create a certain atmosphere).
E.g.: A floor lamp that allows us to adjust the light intensity to get a warm and subtle light next to a sofa contributes to more relax.
On the other hand the same lamps are part of the elements of decoration itself, completing and highlighting it. Decorative lighting is a must to create distinct spaces with an own personality. … [+]
